(Anti)viral Material Design Guided by Scattering Methods

چکیده

Viruses are nature’s own nanoparticles that highly symmetric and monodisperse in size shape with well-defined surface chemistry. They have evolved for optimal cell interactions, genetic information delivery replication by the host over millions of years. These features render them into very efficient pathogens place a severe burden onto health our society. At same time, they interesting objects colloidal studies building blocks advanced bio-inspired materials applications. Their characterisation requires sophisticated experimental techniques such as scattering X-rays, neutrons, light to probe structures interactions from nanometre micrometre length-scale solution. This contribution summarizes recent progress field virus self-assembly virus-based biopolymer composites material design. It discusses advances highlights some challenges characterization structure dynamics these focus on techniques. further demonstrates selected applications food water purification.
